About W. Jason Odom
Experience shaped by service and perseverance
Jason’s path to practicing law began in the military, continued on the railroad and ultimately grew from a desire to help people facing difficult circumstances.
From South Carolina to Florida law
Originally from South Carolina, Jason joined the South Carolina Army National Guard directly after high school and served as a military policeman. His ten years of service included duty at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and multiple commendations.
He later earned his bachelor’s degree in management, graduating cum laude from Southern Wesleyan University while building a career with CSX Transportation. Over ten years, he worked as both a conductor and engineer. For seven of those years, he served as a local union chairman protecting the rights of conductors and engineers.
A serious neck and back injury, followed by multiple surgeries, ended Jason’s railroad career. The experience gave him personal insight into how quickly an injury can change a person’s work, finances and family life.

A career centered on helping people move forward
Jason attended Florida Coastal School of Law and graduated with Pro Bono honors. While in law school, he served as a Guardian ad Litem, volunteering to protect children’s interests in Duval County.

He has contributed to legal education and professional organizations serving plaintiffs and working people.

Jason is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
